Council #9960 Events and Activities

Sept. 2016 Sun. 9/25/2016 Golf tournament at Franconia Net proceeds went into our Scholarship Fund
Columbus Day weekend 2016 Sat. & Sun. 10 /8 & 10/9/2016 Tootsie Roll Drive after each mass Net proceeds go to the Knights of Columbus MA. state charity fund which is used to assist handicapped and mentally challenged individuals with MA.  This council has been awarded monies which built handicapped ramps within our local area.
Oct. 2016 Fri. 10/28/2016 Trunk or Treat Helped sponsor a vehicle in this fun and safe event in St. Michael's parking lot.
Oct. 2016 Sun. 10/30/2016 5th Sunday Rosary Held in the church after the 8 AM mass for all parishioners, this helps bring parishioners together in a spiritual activity and promote devotion to Mary.  Finger rosaries are provided.
Nov. 2016 through Jan. 2017 November 2016 thru January 2017 Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest This program allows young people ages 5 to 14 to engage their creative talents and imaginations while understanding the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas. Council winners go on to a district contest, whose winners go on to a regional contest, whose winners go to the state finals.
Dec. 2016 Sun. 12/4/2016 Breakfast with Santa We work in conjunction with St. Michael's Family Life Commission.  Pancakes, sausages, orange/apple juice, hot chocolate/tea/coffee breakfast with pictures with Santa, crafts and ballon figures.  Net proceeds go into our council Charities Fund.
Jan. 2017 Sat. 1/21/17 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship Open to all boys and girls aged 9 through 14.  Council winners go on to a district contest, whose winners go on to a regional contest , whose winners go on to the state finals.
Jan. 2017 Wed. 1/25/17 Wednesday night Supper Provide a pasta supper with net proceeds going into our council's Charities Fund.
Jan. 2017   5th Sunday Rosary  
Feb. 2017 Sat. Feb. 25, 2017 Mardi Gras with Family Life We assisted St. Michael's Family Life Commission by securing all the meal ingredients, cooked and served the meal.  Proceeds went to Family Life Commission.
Mar. 2017 Mon. 3/13/17 Gray House Dinner In conjunction with St. Michael's parishioners, we prep, cook, and serve a pasta supper for approximately 450 people with all proceeds going to the Gray House.
Apr. 2017 Sun. 4/9/17 (Palm Sunday) Pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny We work in conjunction with St. Michael's Family Life Commission.  Pancakes, sausages, orange/apple juice, hot chocolate/tea/coffee breakfast with pictures with Santa, crafts and ballon figures.  Net proceeds go into our council Charities Fund.

May 2017 Sat. & Sun.  5/13 & 5/14/16 Roses for Life Collect donations for roses after each mass on Mother's Day weekend.  All moneys collected go to Pro-Life of Pioneer Valley
May 2017 Wed. 5/24/17 Wednesday night Supper Provide a pasta supper with net proceeds going into our council's Charities Fund.

Nov. 2016 Sat. 11/19/2016 Pro-Life Mass St. Michael's Cathedral in Springfield
Jan. 2017 Fri. 1/27/2017 Springfield March for Life Participated in Springfield's March For Life held in conjunction with the National March for Life in Washington.
Apr. 2017 Fri. 4/14/2017 Pro-Life demonstration Participated in a peaceful inter-faith rally in Springfield.
